Calcium citrate maleate

Introduction: Cal C Mal is an organic form of calcium equally well absorbed with or without food. There are many differentsupplemental forms of calcium but none are better documented than calcium citrate-malate, which is highly absorbable whilesimultaneously being safe, well-tolerated, and cost-effective. About 40% more calcium is absorbed from calcium citrate-malatecompared to calcium carbonate or milk. Calcium citrate-malate has been shown to exert numerous benefits in bone health.

Mechanism of action: Calcium citrate maleate is described as a metastable complex of calcium, citrate and malate or as aCalcium citrate malate is a water-soluble calcium supplement. Calcium citrate malate's bioavailability stems from its water-solubilityand its method of dissolution. When dissolved, it releases calcium ions and a calcium-citrate complex. Calcium ions are absorbed

directly into intestinal cells, and the citrate complex enters the body through para cellular absorption

Vitamin D3

Introduction: Cholecalciferol or vitamin D3 derives from exposure to sun rays and certain food items. In the body, some partof vitamin D is stored in the kidneys, liver, bones, while the remaining part gets stack in the intestine where it helps in calciumabsorption from the food.

Functions: The main function of vitamin D3 is to keep normal calcium and phosphorus levels in the body which helps tomaintain and build strong bones, teeth and nails. Also it supports cell functions and other neuromuscular functions in the body. Bycontrolling the supply of calcium between the bones and the blood, it supports bone mineralization (hardening of bones) andbone remodelling by osteoblasts and osteoclasts. Vitamin D also plays a substantial role in preventing rickets in children, andosteoporosis or osteomalacia in adults.

Elemental Magnesium:

Introduction: Magnesium is the fourth most abundant mineral in the body and is essential to good health. Approximately 50% oftotal body magnesium is found in bone. The other half is found predominantly inside cells of body tissues and organs. Only 1% ofmagnesium is found in blood, but the body works very hard to keep blood levels of magnesium constant

×          It makes our bones strong and helps the muscles and nerves of our body

×          Magnesium is needed for more than 300 biochemical reactions in the body.

×          It helps maintain normal muscle and nerve function, keeps heart rhythm steady, supports a healthy immune system, andkeeps bones strong.

×          Magnesium also helps regulate blood sugar levels, promotes normal blood pressure, and is known to be involved inenergy metabolism and protein synthesis

×          Magnesium deficiency may be an additional risk factor for postmenopausal osteoporosis. This may be due to the factthat magnesium deficiency alters calcium metabolism and the hormones that regulate calcium

Introduction: Zinc is an essential mineral that is naturally present in some foods, added to others, and available as a dietarysupplement. Zinc is also found in many cold lozenges and some over-the-counter drugs sold as cold remedies. Zinc deficiencycauses growth retardation, delayed sexual maturation, infection susceptibility, and diarrhea, contributing to the death of about800,000 children worldwide per yearSome people use zinc for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), male infertility, erectile dysfunction(ED), weak bones (osteoporosis), rheumatoid arthritis, and muscle cramps associated with liver disease.Zinc is a constituent of manyenzymes and is essential for the proper function of these various enzymes. Zinc is essential for the metabolism and structural stabilityof nucleic acids

Therapeutic functions:

×          Helps in treatment of rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis Zinc is not only a critical factor in bone formation, it is alsoinvolved in the production of enzymes that recycle worn-out portions of bone protein and for the healing of injured bones.

×          There is a significant correlation between the amount of zinc in bones and their strength, and osteoporosis is associatedwith low zinc levels.

×          Speeds up wound healing process

×          Stimulates the immune system

×          Reduces tumor growth and aids in cancer treatment

×          Helps diabetes by promoting the formation of insulin
