Product Description

Composition: Clindamycin phosphate 1%, Nioctinamide 4% inAllantoin Base

Chemical Name:Clindamycin phosphate is a water soluble ester of the semi-synthetic antibiotic produced by a 7(S)- chlaro-substitution of the 7(R)-hydroxyl group of the parent antibiotic Lincomycin.


Mechanism of Action: Although c1indamycin phosphate is inactive in vitro, rapid in vivo hydrolysis converts this compound to the anti bacterially active c1indamycin. Clindamycin binds to the 50S ribosomal subunits of susceptible bacteria and prevents bacterial protein synthesis. Also provides anti-inflammatory & anti-chemo tactic activity.


Indications and Usage: Clindamycin phosphate is indicated in the treatment of Acne-Vulgaris. At bedtime, squeeze a pea-sized amount of medication onto one fingertip. Dot on to the chin, cheeks. nose and forehead, then gently rub over the entire face and should be kept away from the eyes, mouth, angles of the nose, and mucous membranes.

Contraindications: Clindamycin or Lincomycin, enteritis or ulcerative colitis, antibiotic-associated colitis.


Drug Interactions: Clindamycin has been shown to have neuromuscular blocking properties that may enhance the action of other neuromuscular blocking agents. Therefore it should be used with caution in patients receiving such agents.


Side Effects- The most common dermatological adverse effects seen are such as burning, itching, dryness, erythema & peeling etc.


Storage Condition: Store below 250 C (77CF) & to protect from light.
